There is a chance that from the end of this week it will be snowing in our little country, with a small chance that in the course of next week it will be snowing even more.
And when it snows in Belgium, it's most often on those highest points: on and around the Botrange (500-700m), the East Cantons (550-700m), the Baraque de Fraiture (650m), the plateau of Libramont (ca 500m) and the Croix-Scaille (ca 500m).
To avoid the crowds, it is best to look for snow in these places only on weekdays. In case the area might get overrun, access roads are very often closed to all car traffic during the weekends anyway. Then it may help to use public transport to reach some beautiful places.
Below are four hikes, for sporty and less sporty hikers, that I made last winter and that can all be reached by public transport.
